Malinda Hartong is a freelance photojournalist, with over 6 years full-time staff experience at a major daily newspaper, plus over 2 decades of freelance – both stills and video, news and features for all sorts of publications and purposes. Photo credits include The Guardian (London) and The Times of London. Malinda has covered everything from presidential races to 5 alarm fires, as well as decades of portrait and event experience, all the while staying updated with the latest technology and cameras, from iPhones to SLRs, Photoshop, Lightroom, iPad photo editing and then some.
Malinda and Glenn are both the 1st honorary civilian members of the Ohio Association of Professional Firefighters – recognized for decades of service, including serving as pool funeral coverage – both stills and video – for all other media outlets.
Malinda thoroughly enjoys sharing her photography & photoshop experience teaching folks of ALL ages and skill levels.

Malinda and her photojournalist husband Glenn Hartong thrive on telling great stories, in video, stills, and of course sharing their passion through teaching. Glenn has almost 30 years daily news experience – both still and video. Glenn has taught photography as well as video workshops. His images have been published around the globe, including in National Geographic and photojournalism text books. Of course they met thanks to great lenses!

With ongoing classes, summer camps, and workshops covering Digital Photography for Beginners, DSLR: Beyond Auto Mode, iPhonography, and Photoshop, plus 1-1 private lessons for beginners to aspiring pros, Malinda stays busy looking at the world through glass, and helping others to see it more beautifully while improving their own images.
